A General-Purpose Handgun

The General-Purpose Handgun: One Concept to Consider
https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2020/9/10/the-general-purpose-handgun-one-concept-to-consider/
"Specifically, the project I envisioned involved starting with a tough, easy-to-maintain, medium-frame revolver chambered in .357 Mag. and featuring a fully adjustable rear sight, a "compromise" barrel length of about 4" and, preferably, stainless steel construction—all carried in one of two practical belt holsters depending on the circumstances.

As I thought about those preferences, I settled on a platform with which I was quite familiar: Ruger's long-discontinued Security-Six."

C3 Corvette Seat Swaps

Corvette C3 Fiero Seat Swap:  http://corvettec3.ca/fiero.htm
"Fiero seats are very close to the same dimensions as your C3 seats.  The Fiero seats provide more lateral support than the original C3 style.  Although the Fiero seats are not direct bolt in replacements, fabricating brackets to accept the original C3 tracks and mounts is a fairly straight forward and simple task  ...

Probably the number one reason for choosing Fiero seats is because there is a company called MrMikes Fiero (http://mrmikes.com/corvettes.htm) that makes seat upholstery kits for these seats.  Not only does MrMike make kits in all Fiero styles but he also makes them in a style for your C3 Corvette complete with C3 logos. "

"GM changed the design of the seat tracks over the C3 production years.  In 1978 the new clam shell seat design was introduced with the Pace Car option and this design became standard in 1979 and continued until the C3 end of run in 1982.  Two things remained constant throughout the C3 run and that was the dimensions of the floor anchor bolt pattern and the track to seat bolt pattern.
...
Please note that if your C3 has the clam shell seat design (1978 to 1979) your tracks will be one of two designs.  If your tracks have a raised bracket at the front you may wish to remove it so that your Fiero seats will sit flat on the tracks which was the way they were designed.  If you choose to leave the bracket there you may find the installed height of your seats to be too high.
...
Using the Fiero tracks requires much more fabrication than using your original C3 tracks.  While the Fiero seats are about the same dimension as your original C3 seats, the Fiero seat tracks are mounted closer together and are shorter than your C3 tracks.  The simplest solution is to use your original C3 tracks and fabricate four brackets from 1/8" X 2" steel flat stock.
...
Please note that two of the brackets have a 1/4" curved indentation.  This is to allow clearance for the C3 seat adjust lever.  Put that indentation in your brackets before you drill the holes.  The smaller holes (for attaching C3 tracks to brackets) are drilled 17/64" and tapped 8 X 1.25 mm.  The larger holes (for attaching seat to brackets) are drilled 21/64". Making Bricks Out of Fast-Growing Mushrooms

Stanford Designer is Making Bricks Out of Fast-Growing Mushrooms That Are Stronger than Concrete
This may have applications in space, like building structures on Mars.
https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/phil-ross-invents-mycelium-mushroom-bricks-arch/
"Phil Ross doesn't use the mushroom, or fruiting body of the reishi; he uses mycelium, the fast-growing fibrous roots that make up the vast majority of fungus lifeforms.

Mycelium grows fast, and is incredibly durable, waterproof, non-toxic, fire-resistant, and biodegradable.

Ross uses it to build bricks by growing mycelium in bags of delicious (to mushrooms) sawdust, before drying them out and cutting them with extremely heavy-duty steel blades.

This works because mushrooms digest cellulose in the sawdust, converting it into chitin, the same fiber that insect exoskeletons are made from.

"The bricks have the feel of a composite material with a core of spongy cross grained pulp that becomes progressively denser towards its outer skin," explained Discover Magazine. "The skin itself is incredibly hard, shatter resistant, and can handle enormous amounts of compression.""

Amazon Sidewalk networks for Echo, Ring, etc.

Amazon Sidewalk - a localized networks for Echo, Ring, and others share WiFi connections (not just your own)
https://www.slashgear.com/amazon-sidewalk-is-coming-and-not-everyone-will-be-happy-24648652/
"Sidewalk basically creates a special, separate network, hosted by so-called Sidewalk Bridge devices. That includes certain Echo and Ring models. What distinguishes them from your regular WiFi connection is that proximate Sidewalk devices can collaborate, even if they're not necessarily your own.

Your neighbors' Ring camera, for example, could join a local Sidewalk network. The advantage, Amazon says, is that even if your internet connection goes down, things like your Ring security system may still potentially be able to get online using a neighbor's bandwidth. It also improves range, since Sidewalk devices can in theory fill in gaps in WiFi coverage.

Of course, to do that, Amazon needs to grab some of your internet bandwidth to share. What's likely to prove divisive is that Amazon will turn Sidewalk on by default, its email to registered users confirmed today. If they don't want to have their internet connection shared in part, they'll have to manually turn it off."

Powder-Coating Lead Bullets

Powder coating lead bullets – dry tumble (DT) method
https://www.mp-molds.com/tipstricks/powder-coating-lead-bullets-dry-tumble-dt-method/
"It can also be called ASBBDT "Dry tumbling using the AirSoft BBs as a tumbling media", because I use BBs too. I did think about getting a spray gun but after achieving good results with DT, I never looked back. Use of a spray gun is called ESPC method = Electrostatic powder coat (applied with a spray gun using a static charge). You can always buy an Electrostatic PC gun to get the smoothest finish, but it comes with more setup, more cleanup time and some powder will be lost."

"Why PowderCoat (PC)?
    Replaces lubricants / less mess
    Not sticky (clean seating dies)
Sometimes faster then alox/lubrisizer (depends on your method)
Cheaper – use of push through sizers / no need for lubrisizer
Doesn't dry/melt/crack in long term storage
Less or no smoke when shooting
    Easier cleaning
No lead exposure when handling bullets
Lower friction/ longer barrel life/ lower temperature (see American Eagle® Syntech™)
Color coding projectiles (for different loadings with same bullet)
They usually work in bullet feeders for your progressives
You can enlarge dia of cast projectile by 0.002″ – 0.003″ – if you need!
    You can use soft alloy
PC'd cast bullets can be used in supressors
PC'd bullets will not clog compesators / ports
and if you just hate colours:
Use CLEAR PC for traditional look (it has no pigment)"

Why & How To: Powder Coating Bullets: https://www.snipercountry.com/powder-coating-bullets/
"What, exactly, is powder coating?
It is coating a metal part with powdered paint using heat, and is popular in industrial applications.
But, for our purposes, powder coating involves taking a freshly-cast bullet (not lubed) the right diameter and baking on powdered paint in an oven."

How to Powder Coat Your Bullets: https://www.usreloadingsupply.com/news-how-to-powder-coat-your-bullets2
"Here is what you will need in order to get setup:
Toaster oven ($10 to $15) –
This can be acquired at a local thrift store for a pretty decent price. I have picked them up for under $10 before. You do have to make sure to have a thermometer on-hand to measure 400 degrees F. You can buy a new one for $20 on Amazon if you prefer to go that route but it's recommended to still check the temp as they can fluctuate.
Please make sure that you never, ever, use food in a toaster oven or pot or pan, anything really, that you've had lead or anything similar in! Lead can be toxic, especially for children and exposure can be avoided.
Also, find a spot outside to cure these.

Plastic Airsoft BB's, Black
($5 to $10) –
This is easy to get and can be found at your local Wally World. It is important to get black bb's as they are more dense and create a better static field. You can substitute other colors but your mileage may vary.

Number 4 or 5 Type Recyclable Container with Lid (IE: Cool Whip/TupperWare containers – $3) –
This is a lot easier to find than you might think. Look on the bottom of an old butter/margarine tub for that symbol that has a "4" inside the recycle logo.
The lid does NOT have to be the same type of plastic but the container does have to be specifically that.
It is otherwise known as "LDPE". This type aids in the production of static electricity, which helps the powder stick to the lead projectiles.

Lead Projectiles (Cost not included as they should be around if you cast) –
They need to be clean, dry and unlubed. Other than that, you should be good to go.

Baking Mat/Silicone Baking Tray or Non-Stick Aluminum Foil (Free to $5) – This can be had for free from the wife's stash … but I'd advise against it as it might become a point of contention and also, once used, I'd avoid food on it.
You can use a tray that comes with a toaster oven as well.
("Non-stick Alum: Dullest side up is the non-stick side.")

Powder Coat (Ranges from $10 and up per Pound) – I bought a pound of the cheapest stuff I could find on an auction site and it was about $8 but I usually see it around $10 to $15 a pound.
It depends on whether or not you have preference in color. I didn't and ended up getting red because of the price. If you want to get some sparkling or chameleon colored coating, expect to pay a premium.
This is totally a personal preference choice. When you get it home, do take care with handling because if you drop it and the bag busts, it is not a fun cleanup (ask me how I know).
A pound should last a good amount of time. I do not have any firm estimates but I can tell you that I have coated 300 or so projectiles and still have a ton left. A little bit will generally do it and can go a long way. Harbor Freight is another option but I've read a lot of mixed reviews concerning utilizing it to coat projectiles."

What Did Rush Limbaugh Mean When He Said America Is 'Trending Toward Secession'?

https://pjmedia.com/culture/tyler-o-neil/2020/12/10/rush-limbaughs-trending-toward-secession-comment-was-not-a-call-for-civil-war-n1202651

"There cannot be a peaceful coexistence of two completely different theories of life, theories of government, theories of how we manage our affairs."

"Rush Limbaugh was not suggesting conservatives should secede from the Union and spark a civil war. Quite the opposite. However, he did acknowledge a growing cultural gulf between left-leaning elites and Americans who refuse to go along with the latest race/class/gender trends in the increasingly stifling leftist orthodoxy."

"When it comes to "trending toward secession," Limbaugh's words had less to do with states seceding from the Union and more to do with conservatives withdrawing from the dominant hostile culture."

"If America does devolve into a civil war, it seems far more likely radicals in antifa will lead that charge. After all, antifa agitators have threatened the lives of police officers, knocked over all kinds of monuments — even desecrating monuments to black Union volunteers in the Civil War! — and threatened the peace of communities. Conservatives don't organize violent attacks on police stations and federal courthouses."
